What is stored, and why
- Your account: e-mail address, a salted password hash, when the account was created and when you last signed in. Needed to provide the service (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- Your analyses: the data you submit, the settings you chose and the results. Needed to provide the service. You decide what you upload; please do not upload personal data about other people.
- Security: the network address of each request is used, in memory only, to limit repeated sign-in attempts (legitimate interest in protecting accounts, art. 6(1)(f)).
Where it is processed
The website and its database run on servers rented from Civo Ltd in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). Analyses are computed on a separate server at the same provider; it holds your data only while computing and deletes the job once the result has been collected.
How long
- Analyses: until you delete them or your account.
- Accounts whose e-mail address is never confirmed: 7 days.
- Database backups: 14 days, then overwritten.
Cookies
Two cookies, both strictly necessary: eq_auth keeps you signed in, eq_af protects forms against cross-site request forgery. No analytics, advertising or third-party cookies; no external scripts or fonts are loaded.
Your rights
You can download everything stored about you and delete your account at any time on the Account page. You can also ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction, or object to processing, by writing to the contact address above. You may complain to a data protection authority; in Finland that is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
